Various music I been listening too!
Perhaps I will introduce you to just one thing you will get something out of then it will be a worthwhile post =) I been spending a sick amount of time getting new music recently, only problem is the amount of shite you have to wade through =) You also need to buy or download high quality versions because these youtube videos don't do much justice to some of this stuff.
Some people complain that Youtube videos seem to not start on my page occasionally and I experience this sometimes as well but it is always solved if I load my page up in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox. Don't know why Firefox has this problem sometimes =(
Various females singers I came across recently that I think are superb! :-
Omerta Bossa (Nicole Conte Version) - Isabelle Antena.
Youtube deleted Le Poisson Des Mers Du Sud which was what I wanted to show. Oh well.
Balloon Mood by Anja Garbarek - Daughter of Jazz Saxaphonist Jan Garbarek.
Phoenix by Cibelle.
Roots of Coincidence - Pat Metheny Group. Does sound like it should be a James Bond theme as a commenter noted. Definitely check it out as if you don't like regular Jazz this could hook even some metal heads =)! I want to go to one of their gigs ASAP!
The Truth Will Always Be - Pat Metheny - Just gold.
2HB - Roxy Music - Great stuff.
Bob Dylan - Highway 51 - From his debut album. Guitar in this has amazing energy not to mention his voice. He is ONLY 21 here!!!
Pat Metheny Group performing the superb tune - Jaco.
American Heartbeat by Survivor - Cheesy!. Lyrics a bit annoying but this is some classic 80s stuff! =) Survivor did the Rocky Music - Eye of the Tiger but you all know that =)
Been listening to A LOT of Iggy Pop recently. China Girl - A classic Co-written by Iggy and David Bowie and first appearing on Iggy's classic album The Idiot in 1977. Bowie's more familiar version was released in 1983 on his album Let's Dance. I like both versions a lot but Iggy's is certainly more raw and that has some extra appeal to me.
Sweet Sixteen by Iggy Pop. Check out when he sits on the drums at end, classic.
Rick James and Cold Blooded.
