Real Hand

It is pretty rare for me to be in a spot like this where I am completely sure I am right but so weak based on the action in the hand. Once every month perhaps where I am utterly sure in a spot like this, worth sharing perhaps especially after the previous hands I posted =). This took place yesterday in one of my heads up sessions.

I haven't played ring for exactly one month now. 25,000 hands of heads up so far.

His stats were 48.9PFR, 57.72VPIP and 5.60 Aggro over a small number of hands (149), statistics in heads up are much more meaningful over a small number of hands than in ring. His stats indicate he is considerably looser than your average heads up opponent and more aggressive too. I usually adjust to my opponents style quickly, playing nearly always at least as loose as they do when I figure them out. To beat a "good" player with stats like these requires usually a very swingy match. 97% of players I play though with stats like this have big leaks so I can reduce variance quite a lot vs them. A top player like oh I don't know CTS will have similar stats to this except without the leaks.

Grand Theft Auto 4

I'm not easily impressed by games, but if you own an XBOX360 or Playerstation 3 you should definitely purchase GTA4. At first, you will probably react the same as me and be slightly underwhelmed, feels like more of the same initially but trust me if you give it a good chance you will have a lot of fun with it. The attention to detail is mind blowing, even the comedians at the comedy club are funny. If this is what is possible today in gaming, in 10 years it is going to be mind blowing!

Man in Black part 20?

I know, I can't help myself as I've said before I am addicted to Johnny Cash, I have no idea why, I identify so much with this guy, I literally have nothing in common with him but I feel almost overwhelmingly linked to him sometimes. More footage from Johnny Cash at San Quentin. The interesting part about this footage is the song: "Orange Blossom Special"(first song in the above footage) does NOT appear on the CD of Johnny Cash at San Quentin. And in my opinion may just be the highlight of the concert. How this cannot be on the CD is beyond me, totally ridiculous oversight. "Hmmmm, what to remove from the CD, hmmm.....". Honestly, music executives or the powers that be that decide whats goes on these CD's must be brain dead, its the same deal when you listen to Best of CD's of lets say John Lennon or even Cat Stevens. Best of? Best of my ass, there are KEY SONGS MISSING ALWAYS.

If you don't like or appreciate Johnny Cash then you ain't welcome at my blog, so remove it from your bookmarks please, that may just well be most of you but I don't care! =)

Also, if you have the seen the movie "Walk the Line" where Joaquin Phoenix plays Johnny Cash you may well have been put off the real man. Don't let this affect you because even though I enjoyed the movie a fair bit it is most certainly not an accurate portrayal of Johnny Cash's personality because I don't believe Mr Cash was in the least bit backward as portrayed in the movie by Phoenix, he is certainly portrayed as a country "numpty" in this movie with his uhms and ehms and slowness. However, it does adequately portray certain historical facts I was unfamiliar with especially his growing loving relationship with June Carter.

More footage above from the Grand Ole Opry with his wife June Carter from 1968! Contrast the above footage with the infamous "Hurt" video below recorded 35 years later where June is featured at points in the video still by his side.

Hurt :- June Carter died soon after this video was released, Johnny Cash died only 4 months later. I can't watch this video without crying. Although Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) wrote this song, this is one DEFINITE instance where an artist makes a song he did NOT write his own. Clearly great video editing also (Mark Romanek)! Everyone that is anyone has already seen Hurt a bazillion times already however have you listened to Cash's version of "The first time ever I saw your face" from the same album? "American IV"? Some of you perhaps not! Check out below and be prepared to be blown away, yet again, the definitive version!(remember he is clearing singing about June here):-
