What the hell is wrong with you!

"do you guys know what the hell is wrong with tillerman?

this blog used to be great, it was all about videogame and poker. it was definitely the best blog ever.

now all you can see are stupid to youtube videos.

This is what we want to read:

1) top xbox 360 games you are playing, have you finished them? at what difficulty?

2) info about your poker bankrool, we want to know how much you are winning/losing a month. biggest downswing?

3) review of the new sc2 units: baneling, mothership, ...

hear ya soon"

One time deal for you since you are asking some questions that are obviously important to you and others around the world.

1. My most played XBOX 360 games:
Guitar Hero 2(Everything completed apart from last song on expert)
Dead Rising(Full complete with real ending)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance(Full complete)
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved (Got some top 1000 Leaderboard scores before I got bored of it)
Rock Band(Skill level is currently, full complete on Drums on Medium, one song away from full complete on Hard, 24 songs complete on Expert, 2 Songs away from full complete with lead guitar on Expert)
Gears of War(Full complete)
Guitar Hero 3(Barely played, burnt out from GH2)
Test Drive Unlimited(Great game that I played a lot but decent amount of achivements left before I got bored)
Forza Motorsport 2(Got bored pretty quick but may come back to it)
Halo 3(Yawn fest, 1 hour play)
Kameo: Elements of Power (Half a complete before boredom)
Project Gotham Racing 4 (played it just enough to do slightly better than my friend so I could see him get angry after races, he quit me)
Need for Speed Most Wanted (Got stuck in this game, how you get stuck in a driving game I don't know)
Viva Pinata (Maybe 40% complete before boredom)
Saints Row (Maybe 25% before boredom)
Fight Night Round 3 (Got too hard too quick, too repetitive)
Perfect Dark Zero (Bored fast)
Mass Effect (Mass Zzzzz fest)

some other games I forget.

2. On a $100,000 upswing since I switched to heads up only. Was on a decent downswing before this though. Slow year so far. Mostly get action at $500/$1000 only, tough to get games going at $2000/$5000 unless I join other peoples games but even then they will mostly sit out and the ones who don't aren't worth playing anyway for the most part. Game selection makes you twiddle your thumbs a lot but it is pretty important. Not playing enough either. Biggest downswing is $100,000 - $175,000 which I've had two or three times in poker.

3. I think Starcraft 2 looks as if it is going to be great, fingers crossed it is significantly better than Warcraft 3 but even if it is only as good(doubtful) then it will still be a great game! If it equals or surpasses Starcraft/Broodwar I will be shocked. I can't judge the new units till I actually try them, a bit worried about units like the Mothership, they feel "Heroish", there were no hugely overpowered units in Starcraft. Guess I'll withhold judgment till Beta.

Next post is likely to be back to "stupid" you tube videos I'm afraid. If anything remotely interesting happens to me in poker or gaming I'll be sure to post here don't worry. Unfortunately it is going to be me judging the "interesting" criteria.

I recommend Trackmania Nations Forever. It's a free downloadable racing game because the development was sponsored by NVIDIA. It also gets played competitively at the Electronic Sports World Cup.

Can you tell us a little more about why Starcraft: Brood War will be so difficult to surpass?

And what games have surpassed it?

And why didn't Warcraft 3 surpass it?

Thank you

I downloaded that Trackmania game, relatively addictive. Good link!

About 1K uniques a day.

Well it is the greatest game ever made in my opinion. So to surpass or equal the greatest game ever made is a tough challenge?

No games have surpassed it.

Because Warcraft 3 didn't have the macro of Starcraft and was just generally noobified closing the skill gap between the merely competent player and the great player. I could talk about the failings of Warcraft 3 for a long time but even with all those failures it is still one of the Top 10 games ever made in my opinion. Biggest failing was TFT though, just lost all interest after that, all Zileas' fault =)

well if you play HU only, does make it very tough (and indeed nearly pointless) to post hands, without long posts describing the context the hands were in (with regards to image, dynamics, etc).

oh well, still pretty sure you'll be able to keep us entertained tiller.

I think poker is the most miserable, awful horrible activity that one could ever engage in

I win enough to support a life in a crappy apartment (winning player) and I still think this

I mean I really, really hate it

I don't know what it is but every hand of poker I play is like the worst 40 seconds of my life all over again, I can't stand it

Not only do I have a better time at the dentist, I have a MUCH better time at the dentist. Poker makes the dentist seem like a relaxing vacation

If I could somehow make the same amount at another job, there is literally no other job on earth I would turn down for poker. For the same money I would rather shovel elephant shit 10 hours a day in a 110-degree mojave sun than play poker

Is this roughly how you feel about poker Tiller, or are you just kind of bored with it?

A lot of the time Christopher I can feel like that. I have a huge love/hate relationship with this game. I have no solution, sometimes I truly despise it, sometimes I truly love it. And those feelings don't just follow losing or winning streaks either so it's hard for me to analyze. It's been like that for 3 years now and I think I'm always going to feel this way.

The game just isn't satisfying enough, it is basically just a very highly paid(if you are good enough) assembly line job.

Heads up is helping though, pretty complex and a bit more engaging but probably just a novelty thing.

I'm just a depressing character, ignore me =)

you lot are a cheery bunch.

is happiness/satisfaction from/in poker inversely related to how successful you are? because i'm running like shit, spewing chips like a tiltmonkey and still usually enjoying poker (and yes, i am a winning player ;) )

tiller and chris, expand on this love hate relationship? i dont get it? the money u make on the higher stake games requires u to play a maximum of 5 hours for the day to make a good living. Is it the grind? life is a grind? wheres the sadness route from, if you both dont know you should sit down and think about it to find the answer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPob2EZnC28 this song will help u in the thought process!

I think Tillerman and Christopher are good at Poker because they are a lot smarter than the average player and because of that, they realize that poker alone doesn't make them happy. Anybody who thinks "Why don't 300K make you happy?" is not smart enough to beat a high stakes game.

Only people who dont have that kind of money dont get it.

But if you have it, you realize that it doesnt mean a thing.

I actually think i love poker, but i hate money lol.

I hate how people react to someone who has money. They just dont get that it isnt all that great to have a huge tv, a great car or whatever.

And if you tell them you got that money playing poker.. its all over baby, i hate the reactions you get.
