Real Hand
It is pretty rare for me to be in a spot like this where I am completely sure I am right but so weak based on the action in the hand. Once every month perhaps where I am utterly sure in a spot like this, worth sharing perhaps especially after the previous hands I posted =). This took place yesterday in one of my heads up sessions.
I haven't played ring for exactly one month now. 25,000 hands of heads up so far.
His stats were 48.9PFR, 57.72VPIP and 5.60 Aggro over a small number of hands (149), statistics in heads up are much more meaningful over a small number of hands than in ring. His stats indicate he is considerably looser than your average heads up opponent and more aggressive too. I usually adjust to my opponents style quickly, playing nearly always at least as loose as they do when I figure them out. To beat a "good" player with stats like these requires usually a very swingy match. 97% of players I play though with stats like this have big leaks so I can reduce variance quite a lot vs them. A top player like oh I don't know CTS will have similar stats to this except without the leaks.

I was hoping that you would soon write a piece on full ring play.
I think I can speak for many readers of this blog when I say that I/we are very eager to see your full ring piece.
wow that was a sick sick play
You have to be right there close to 100% being that if he calls with any overpair you are drawing to 2 outer. I mean, even his TJo had considerable equity vs your pair.
That said, a person must be a fool to face tillerman in HU NL holdem :)
Tiller how did you start practicing HU? I am a 6max multitabling grinder who wishes to diversify onto HU and PLO, wich is the most profitable and how do I practice? Are HU SNGs good? I sometimes play 500$ and 1K$ turbo HU sng's on stars but dont feel I have an edge vs the regulars there.
Pretty sick man. More hands please!
What sites you playing at bud?
Meh. Standard.
Tillerman - how many tables of HU can you play before you start to feel you're not playing your A-game?
Also, how would you combat someone as brilliant as Cole? Play more sub-standard hands preflop? Why anyone plays him is beyond me!

Bit late but was just wondering about your play from the cincinatti live cash game last Friday. It didnt seem like you were getting much to work with but I noticed you chose to limp in instead of raising in and played pretty passively. Was it because of the cards you had or do you feel that a more passive style is the way to play that game?
Thanks
Boba/Paul
I start to not play my A game as soon as I add one extra table but that is the case for everyone just they don't notice the tiny hit to ev. I start to feel uncomfortable if I open up a 5th table. And if I'm playing tricky opponents I feel uncomfortable doing four also.
I actually played him HU once at UB (diff nick)at $5k, I won $27,000 in 30min, then he quit. Obviously rushed, but winning record nevertheless =).
I wasn't at CinCin on Friday so you must have me mistaken with someone else. However I may be there tomorrow night later on.
Sorry, meant the Friday before. I was talking to you for a bit as well, Im Graeme's friend.
I think any style will work in that game =) But seeing lots of cheap flops should work ok =) But dont pay attention to me, I'm not exactly trying hard and make quite a few errors because of it or decide to gamble from boredom.
OMG.
Tiller playing live cash in glasgow. Please tell me where and when??
I'll happily take the free cash.

Tonight. Midnight onwards.
tell us more about gta 4, have you finished it yet? how do you find it? Will you play me online?
do games like halo or gta 4 can improve your poker skills?
I completed the main story missions to 64% complete. I chose evil when confronted with every moral decision. I don't think they can help you in poker =)
with regard to poker, gta4 untilts you IMO. pretty good fun to fly a chopper to a roof with 100+ rockets, and blow the shit out of everything :D
