Moving

Been busy arranging the purchase of a house, takes up a lot of time going to view them and arranging stuff. Hopefully be done by the end of March.

Not much been going on in the meantime.

I stole the following video from F-Badger but I believe it originated from the guys over at Siktilt. Anyway it is hilarious =) The player being interviewed is a well known high stakes player at Ladbrokes called Nebuchad.

Recommendations :-

The Mighty Boosh, (All 3 Seasons), this show is genius as Vince would say.

God is NOT Great, Good read which also introduced me to the following documentary and being a kind of documentary addict I scoured around for it.

Marjoe, Unfortunately it only seems to be available in NTSC, I got it anyway as my DVD player is region unlocked. Great documentary which of course had close to zero impact even though it won the Oscar for best documentary all the way back in 1972. Things are still as crazy especially in the USA. We are a bit more secular over here in Europe "thank god" =)

The Invisibles by Grant Morrison, When I was a kid and was really into comics like 2000AD, my mum knew his mum, and she got his mum to get him to draw me a really awesome black ink drawing of one of his new characters "Zenith"(A 2000AD classic). I have it framed and signed to me to this day. He made it big in the USA since way back then similar to what Alan Moore (V for Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentleman, From Hell and the soon to be released Watchmen{Probably totally ruined}) accomplished but obviously not as famous. The Invisibles ran for a quite a long time so if you want all the parts there are seven collected volumes of it. If you like this you should check out Filth and Animal Man also!

Metal Fatigue by Allan Holdsworth, Some amazing Jazz fusion that I have been addicted to recently!

Played a decent amount of poker recently, doing average, nothing special though. Here's an interesting bluff from last night :-

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2125350, I was 90% sure he was bluffing and even when he isn't he must be as weak as a Ten most of the time. My line makes no logical sense however which is why he thought for a long time but when you only hold Ace high or less that doesn't really matter so much =) Bluffing to make a bluff fold is a super rare poker play and I can't think of the last time I tried it so at least it is a somewhat interesting hand to share. Minimum raise river, my hand just can't be a bluff =)

Hi tillerman,

I am playhard, I have a question for ya:

you are in middle position (9 players at the table) with AQ offsuit, a guy raises 3bb under the gun, you know he raises in this position 7% of the times.
what do you do?
call?
fold?
raises? how much?

thank you

Call or fold. Depends on your confidence on how you'll play the flop and beyond. I would personally call the majority of the time.

Tiller, have you considered joining a training site such as deucescracked and making videos or do you think the information you'd be giving away about your play would be too valuable. I had to ask, because I enjoyed your Warcraft 3 commentaries.

Hi Tillerman,

I am a small stakes online player from Glasgow. I am interested in playing live and I wondered if you knew anything about the live 'scene' in Glasgow.

Iain.

The live scene in Glasgow is mostly small tournaments in the casinos ranging usually at £10 or £20 a shot. Occasionally there is a £50 or £100 one at the end of the month.

As far as cash goes I think there is some small cash games at the Cincinatti Club on Bridge street. Probably being £50 or £100 NL holdem.

There are no big games in Glasgow as far as I'm aware or even Scotland =(

Thx Yorkshire m8. I did think about doing a commentary or two for Poker Foal but if I did I would just put it on my site. Don't expect anything like that anytime soon though. Would just be if I ever felt like it one day =)

hey tillerman,
it's me again playhard,
I pushed all-in with AQ against utg raiser.

Is this a bad play?

it's about a coinflip against his hand range.

Yep, most likely a bad play.

You give most people a very easy decision, usually along the lines of they fold everything worse than AQ and call with all the better hands creating a hugely -ev scenario. It can be right vs the occasional maniac or huge fish though.
