Read Kirderf's Hand!

I was playing $5000 NL last night before bed with my good buddy Kirderf (top high stakes pro and ex pro gamer like me). I came to his table to try and stack a player who was beating him for the day so I could make fun of him on MSN when I did. Stuff like "How can you lose to this guy? I stack him in 5min, god you suck" etc. Then I will sleep like a baby for the night you know? =)

It was 6 handed to start but quickly got down to 4 players within thirty minutes. I was down about 3k during this time but ended up 1.5k for the session which ended about 10 minutes after this hand. I did not stack "the player" =(

Action :-

Kirderf had $9176 and "the player" had $18,146. UTG Folds, Kirderf raises to $175, I fold J4 in the small blind and "the player" calls Kirderf's raise from the big blind.

"The player" is very loose pre flop but reasonably passive, calling a lot. We had commented that he doesn't seem to bluff much.

The flop comes 468. There is $375 in the pot.

"The player" checks and Kirderf bets $360 into $375. "The player" calls.

The turn is the 6. The pot is now $1095.

"The player" checks and Kirderf checks also.

The river is the Q. Giving us a final board of 4686Q.

"The player" bets full pot of $1095 which can be done with a bet pot button on this site. Kirderf thinks for a short time then calls.

What did "the player" bet with and what did Kirderf call with?

Answers tomorrow!

57 for the random, AK for kirderf.

Would you mind commenting on the ethics of chatting on MSN to someone else at the table about the other "players" tendencies? Sounds like you 2 were singling him out. Does this go on alot among regulars at higher stakes? I play 5/10 - 25/50 and never use msn, nor know many other players - am I rare in this respect?

I think the player flopped top two pair (68) and I say that as opposed to any combo of two pair simply because there is less likelihood of the other two pair combo's as you confirmed a 4 was mucked.

I think the player, missed his opportunity to check-raise the turn and is now betting hard into his opponent in the hope that he drew his flush and will pay the full pot bet.

I think your friend has high connecting cards such as AcKc or KcQc and just for fun I'll pick AcKc. His continuation bet was for value since his equity on that flop vs villains range is high and he is happy to take it there and then and equally happy to start building a pot with the nut draw.

Since villain is a passive player and prone to call down (presumably light) AcKc loses value on the turn without improvement so I think hero peeled here with his flush and potentially live over-card outs.

I think he flat calls because villains bet is either a bluff (and thus a raise won't be called) or is making up for lost value as he has a house. At the low-middle limits fish will bet pot here with a non-nut flush on this board but I'm assuming even this weaker player isn't that daft at NL$5000.

So, nut flush for your mate and house for villian. AcKc and 68-suited if I had to guess actual hands :)

i think the player probably had a 6 in his hand. with what who knows, you said he's loose pre flop after all. 56, 67? i doubt he'd pot the river when the flush came out with a boat but who knows, maybe 68. i think your friend had a lowish flush, like 5c4c.

i guess a QJ QT KQ AQ are also in your friend's range.

I think kirdef hit the nut flush, and the player had 44.

Originally my thot was that player had hit the nut flush, due to just a flat call on the flop however, looking at the hand again i think it seems likey he hit a set as the size of the bet on the end suggests a full house looking for a call off a flush. So i'll make my original guess and a revised guess,

original) player Ac 2c kirderf K6 or Kc Qc

revised) player 44 kirderf AcKc

Altho having said that player prob had something mad like QQ and played it weird(well not how id have dun :) )

I must admit, the fact Tiller told us J4 was mucked does make me wonder if 44 or 64 is involved. My previous assessment was based on how I think each player might have played the hands I put the on. However, it is, in many ways, sort of obvious and I think Tillerman is wanting to post up some shock result and thus my assumptions would be way off. The very fact tillerman said this player never bluffs might suggest that this river is a bluff and that his friend made an outstanding call with waaaaaay less than a made hand.

Tiller I believe your read is a little off. Most bad players like that would have air on a board like that. Maybe chasing some bullshit gutshot. The high card and the club on the river is prime bluff bait. I'd think that the player had air but kinderf had a semi-decent hand but not strong because he'd push.

You should really come back to warcraft3. I'm having a little trouble with my HU vs UD game and I need to know what I can dew.
