Couple of new Poker Torrents
High Stakes Poker Episode Four came out today on Torrent. I have not watched it yet.
There was also a torrent uploaded which shows highlights from the Pokerstars Sunday tournament, the week ZeeJustin won. Someone must have been recording via a screen capture program and then edited it together.
ZeeJustin winning Sunday Tournament
I watched it, my friend linked me. The highlights are a great call at a critical point in the tournament by Justin for nearly all his stack with just ace high and a very untimely and unnecessary bluff by Vick is God just before the final table.
The thing you will notice from these tournaments in the late stages (and believe it or not I have won a couple of these deep field tournaments) is that you can see the adrenaline rushing through some of the players decisions. There is a ton of truly horrible rash coin flip calls and other instant bad decisions. However, it is pretty interesting to watch to see the combined luck and skill that is necessary to close one of these things out.
His opponents were also correct to refuse that deal, I believe the Lee Jones deal structure is already weighted in favour of the big stack and penalises the smaller ones already. Worth a try I guess =)

Episode 4 is pretty good. Negreanu suffers a couple of bad beats and Farha goes on a rampage that almost convinced me that playing loose is profitable, while Jerry Buss busts and has to borrow 50gs from Daniel lol. It's a great episode tho, can't wait for #5.
kinda bad the KQs call zee made at the start? vs 33..
at best hes 50/50?
I didn't like it either. He's gonna be behind most of the time here vs Ax and PP. KQ is total trash in that kinda spot. He more than made up for it with the AQ call though =)
Zee justified that call with this article entry: http://www.zeejustin.com/articles.php?art_id=8
I read that hand analysis article, fact is none of that analysis went on in the actual hand. He instantly called the all in after 2 seconds.
Problem with doing a pokerstove analysis is that combos are not weighted equally in reality. So not all combos are equally likely. Just because sometimes he will push with 9Ts, other times he will pass the same hand deciding that he can wait a few more hands or another round for something a bit better. Compared to the AA-QQ-AK combos where he is always going to be all in. There is no way you can get KQs to be a favorite pre flop in this situation.
I do agree though that he is roughly 50/50 long term expectation with KQs here with the extra chips in the pot. I do not agree there is any +ev, maybe a tiny bit under absolutely perfect conditions.
So with that being said, there can be no justification for being all in here with exactly break even expectation unless he believes he can get no significant edge with a 104k (above average stack in roughly 30th out of 100 players) stack over the next 30-60mins vs being crippled with less than half the average stack if he loses the coin toss. This cannot be the case as I believe he is a strong player.
In other words I still think it is a clear error. But hey, what do I know he won $136k, proof enough he is right eh? =)
Although his stack size was above average, he mentions that it was low relative to the blinds. He also did not believe he would have much opportunities to outplay his opponents, hence the coin toss. He figured if he won he would have more opportunities later to steal pots etc.
actually (i'm pretty sure) the lee formula is a simple icm with 10k taken out of the pool and left on the table, which penalizes the bigstack his portion of that 10k
if 10k weren't left on the table it would be merely "fair"
