Team Liquid

TeamLiquid.net which was the dominant english speaking Starcraft/Broodwar site has just recently opened up a poker site to cater to all the ex-gamers who have switched to poker.

You can find it at LiquidPoker.net. They have a pokerhand parser exactly like the one at Pokerhand.org but you can search and list via the starting hand which is a nice improvement.

I haven't been playing a ton of poker recently but still been plodding along decently. Had my biggest month ever last month but not going to usurp it this month unfortunately but thats ok as I've been having fun playing quite a bit of Civilization 4 and X3:Reunion.

Both these games have patches pending in the next week so it is quite hard to play them knowing that. I better find something else to do in the meantime such as breaking my personal POWERBALLING RECORD! Currently at 10940 RPM. I will break the 11k barrier soon. I have very weak arms =)

The final table of the main event. The first torrent takes us down to the final five and the second one crowns the champion. Exciting stuff.

Reworked monitor set-up

I had to rework my tri-monitor set-up due to the fact that head movement was indeed a nightmare and I wasn't even using the 3rd one for poker. It was subtely annoying so I disconnected it yesterday all ready to package and sell on ebay as superfluous. However, I thought of the above set-up a few hours ago and it works great. The top monitor is a couple of inches behind the other two and is held in place and tilted with wires that you can't see; it is quite stable. In fact I had it set-up so it was perfectly in line with the two below but this is for some reason actually worse than being placed a little further back.

And with windows display handling, the mouse cursor only goes to the top monitor if you go into it via the top right hand side of the left hand monitor or the top left hand side of the bottom right hand monitor which is super =)

Btw, these monitors look quite small in the photo, I don't know why this is but they are in fact much bigger(21.3") in real life which is why the other set-up didn't work at all for me.

Main Event - $10000 No Limit Hold 'Em Part 10

This is episodes 9 and 10 of the WSOP main event.

A lot of people seem to be having trouble figuring out how to download or claiming the links don't work etc. I am pretty sure this is because some of you may not understand what a torrent is?

If this is the problem then you need to download a bittorent application such as the one I use - Azureus.

Once this is installed you download one of the torrent files from the above links and then double click it like an application. Azureus will then open up automatically and start downloading it.

Someone has to buy this that lives in the USA and tell me how funny/entertaining it is. I want to see this but they only ship within the USA.

Tri Monitors

When my old monitor broke I ordered a new one straight away to avoid the 4-6 week for warranty replacement. The broken one was replaced just yesterday and I although I had planned on just re-selling it on ebay I decided to set it up and check it out anyway. I have two 7800 GTX in SLI so I had the extra DVI input anyway, it was a little bit fiddly with some trial and error in display panel but I got it all working relatively quickly.

Only problem I have is I don't need tri-monitors at all because I will never play more than 6 tables at once. However, if you are a lower limit player it might be a cool investment if you think you are capable of playin 12 tables at the same time. I advise you to get smaller screens though as mine are 21.3" and head movement required is a little too severe for 12 tabling. I think it would work well for 17" and 19" set-ups though! I'll just stick to watching a movie on one or something =)
