Stuff

The coffee bet I had with my friend has been mutually cancelled, he missed Coca Cola and I missed coffee. We both went for a couple of weeks without caffeine and I personally didn't notice much during it, no shaking, no headaches etc. I also couldn't find any evidence anywhere that there were big benefits from quitting. All anyone ever said was that they slept better or other minimal effects such as that. I have never had trouble sleeping period.

I rebooked my driving lessons and driving test (2nd December). I had been taking them over the past year but after I failed my last test I just never bothered rebooking the test again (it is a six week wait each time). I finally motivated myself to go for it again, hopefully this time I pass with flying colours. Fact is I don't need a car in Glasgow/UK, but if I had one I would be more motivated to get out and about more, I'm sure =)

I was ordering a game at Play.com and came across what looks like a cool gadget called a Powerball. Check out the link on the page that shows the Powerball World Champion in action getting it up above 15,000 RPM's. There are two videos, the other one is hidden in the pop up video box. This is really nerdy I agree but I bought one more out of curiosity than anything else and of course to SMASH THE WORLD RECORD!!!!!!!!

Quake 4 is decent in single player and a bit better than Doom 3 in that respect. I have not tried either in multiplayer so can't comment on that aspect. I have no motivation to try either. It definitely won't be better than Quake or Quake 2 multiplayer so why even bother. Age of Empires 3 is still not out in the UK. Black and White 2 is very boring. Serious Sam 2 is ok but not as polished and fun as the originals which is a shame. Looking forward to X3 : Reunion and Civilization 4 which have both gone gold and I have pre ordered.

Poker is going really well this month, so far about 25% higher than my previous best month so that is great. Hope it holds out until the end of the month and I can avoid the dreaded guaranteed final losing day of the month anomaly =) One of my TFT's breaking was not good timing at all. I like playing 6 tables, 4 is just a little too boring for me and I hate overlapping windows.

My new TFT just arrived. Works great, no dead pixels. Bit brighter than the old one but I guess brightness fades after 1 year+.
