Partypoker / Skins Split

Well this sucks really bad! If you didn't hear, Partypoker has seperated themselves from the rest of the skin network (Coral Eurobet, Empire Poker, Intertops etc). What this means is that the playerbase has dramatically shrunk for the skin sites by about a factor of 10. Not only that but on Eurobet (the skin I use) you cannot access the Poker Cashier to withdraw. It is frozen. You can still play with your money and see your entire roll if you sit at a limit table so at least it is all still there ... for now =)

As soon as the poker cashier is unfrozen I will be withdrawing all my money as soon as possible. There is just zero reason to play now that the skins network is so empty for higher limits.

A press release was put out that explains the move a bit.

Dear Mr Girdwood

We would like to inform you that unfortunately, last night technical problems were encountered with the cashier and transfering money to and from poker.

Due to this the cashier has been disabled for all poker transactions until Monday when the poker provider hopes to have resolved and cleared the problem.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,
Jessica

THis sucks in so many ways. It will be harder to find tables on both Party and the former skin sites. I will be forced to start playing on Party again which means no rakeback and that I need to start hiding my winnings from the tax authorities again. (poker winnings from Gibraltar is tax free) I also lose my rakeback deal with eurobet =(

Looks like an 80-90% drop in players. So Partypoker made up the huge majority of players.

It really seems like alot of the players were party bound.

Think I will skip PP overall and start playing on prima instead. The good sleep treat you get when you dont have to worry about the tax is worth alot.

What's messed up is that party tracks your mouse movement and keyboard strokes. I don't feel comfortable playing on a site that does that. Plenty of non dodgy alternatives available though.

Yes, I cashed out, waiting on it going in to Neteller though =) Still being processed.

Aoe3 Demo is pretty good but I don't put much effort into any demo waiting for the release to try it properly =)

I live in Sweden and the swedish tax people have decided that game winnings within the european union is tax free. Since many gaming sites are located in Gibraltar (UK colony with lots of benefical taxes) and Gibraltar is included in UK's EU membership deal all my winnings from these sites are tax free.

Seems like Party Poker is registred in Gibraltar now too so I guess no tax for us Swedes.

The part about them tracking your mouse movements seems a litte messed up though. :/
